IGI Health's Orbit Patient Portal version 6.0 has been tested and certified under the Drummond Group's Electronic Health Records Office of the National Coordinator Authorized Certification Body (ONC-ACB) program. This EHR software is compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
"The ONC-ACB certification is an important milestone for IGI Health in its mission to create efficiencies and reduce costs for healthcare stakeholders using proven connectivity solutions," says Arthur Kapoor, Chairman, IGI Health. "Thanks to the hard work and dedication of our committed family of programmers, data experts and clinical care teams, this approval serves as validation for our customers as they navigate the industry's interoperability demands and shifting reimbursement structures."
Drummond Group's ONC-ACB certification program certifies that EHRs meet the meaningful use criteria for either eligible provider or hospital technology. In turn, healthcare providers using the EHR systems of certified vendors are qualified to receive federal stimulus monies upon demonstrating meaningful use of the technology - a key component of the federal government's impetus to improve clinical care delivery through the adoption and effective use of EHRs by U.S. healthcare providers.
The Orbit Patient Portal, which met the requirements for EHR Modular (Ambulatory), is an easy-to-use, information rich, user managed solution. Leveraging the Orbit PHR framework, the Patient Portal seamlessly integrates patient data including lab results, requests for services, documents and payments, from hospitals and other providers. It also provides data sharing via HIPAA-regulated consent with detailed audit logs and reporting.
"Leveraging information technology for healthcare initiatives provides the opportunity to deliver a high-level quality of care and efficiency which essentially benefits and enhances the overall patient experience," says Rik Drummond, CEO of the Drummond Group Inc. "We have been testing software for more than a decade and will continue to provide our extensive experience testing and certifying complex systems for multiple industries, as well as ensuring interoperability and security remain key components in the growing healthcare industry."
This Orbit Patient Portal is 2014 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services or guarantee the receipt of incentive payments.
