If you use an iPad in your practice, but you worry about running out of battery power at an inopportune time, here’s an interesting development. A Florida company has come up with what it calls an “ever-charging solar and battery system” for all versions of the iPad.
Solawerks, a subsidiary of Domark International, announced on May 3 that its Solapad case will be available in the United States in less than 30 days. Domark CEO Michael Franklin recently traveled to China to oversee production of the Solapad and make arrangements for capitalizing on anticipated demand, according to the company.
The Solapad’s electronic sleeve contains a large, high-efficiency solar panel on its back, plus an additional internal battery to keep the iPad charged at all times.
According to Solar Thermal magazine, Solawerks is also developing a “ruggedized” version of the iPad case made of hard rubber.
