HIMSS offers virtual briefing this week on ICD-10 preparedness


An upcoming virtual briefing produced by HIMSS Media Group will include a session addressing ways in which physicians can preserve and strengthen revenue streams while making the transition to ICD-10.

Free to qualified individuals, the event will run from 11:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. CT on Oct. 10. Registrants will be granted live and on-demand access to three educational sessions, downloadable resources, and opportunities to interact with speakers and attendees, according to HIMSS.

Christine Stahlecker, MBA, who is acting director of the Administration Simplification Group in the Office of Enterprise Management at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, will explain how ICD-10 documentation is tied to revenue and business success. She will also cover creating a positive business environment for adoption of ICD-10 in the physician practice.

Other sessions will include "ICD-10 Coding: Detailed Information to Drive Performance Improvement" and "Front-end Clinical Documentation Under ICD-10."
